Kahoot!: The Game-Based Learning Platform

It always be a problem for every teacher, that is having the students' attention. It appears that learning something is a not-so-fun activity for the students. They love playing games more than they love learning. Therefore, the teacher always try to find a new way to teach the students through the games.

Nowadays, it is the digital era. It means all revolve around technology and education is not an exception. Now there are a lot of learning platforms and one of them is Kahoot!. Kahoot! is a game-based learning platform made by Johan Brand, Jamie Brooker, and Morten Versvik in a joint project with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. It is a multiple-choice quizzes that can be accessed via web browser or Kahoot! app. It is usually used to review the students' knowledge about the lesson.

Kahoot! was designed for social learning, with learners' gather in one place to see the big screen which will show them the questions and the multiple choices. So, in the learners' Kahoot! app or web browser, they just show them the multiple choices and the learners have to choose the correct answer. The one who answers the right question and quicker than the others will get the first place. However, the fun just begins. The total questions depend on the teacher. It could be 10 questions, more than that or less than 10 questions. And if the learner wants to get the first place, they have to answer each question quickly and correctly. So the learner has to pay attention to the lesson well. Unless the won't get the first place.
